Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Jakaash (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Jakaash (the “Service”), how we use it and the choices you have. It is intended to follow applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We never receive your Google password.
- Your activity and preferences. For example your watchlists, chart platform and display choices, and any feedback or messages you send us.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the status, amount, payment method type and reference IDs of your payments. We do not receive or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank login details.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser and device type and basic usage logs, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, secure and improve the Service and to sign you in.
- To manage your subscription, billing and refunds.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Cookies
We use only the cookies the Service needs: a secure sign-in session cookie and small preference cookies, for example your sidebar choice. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.
YouTube (Google)
Some articles embed YouTube videos. We show a placeholder first. YouTube’s player loads, and may set cookies, only after you click play. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you play a video, Google’s own privacy policy applies to that playback.
4. Who we share it with
We share information with service providers that help us run the Service, such as Google (sign-in), Razorpay (payments) and our hosting and infrastructure providers. They may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights and our users. If our business is sold or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner on the terms of this policy. Some providers may store or process data outside India.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is active. We keep billing and tax records for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your account, and we will erase or anonymise your personal data except where we must keep it by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable security practices appropriate to the nature of the data, including encrypted connections, access controls and encrypted storage of sensitive settings. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Under applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask to access a summary of your personal data, correct or update it, have it erased, withdraw your consent (which may mean we can no longer provide the Service), nominate another person to exercise these rights, and raise a grievance. Write to us using the details below.
8. Children
The Service is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Links to other sites
The Service links to third-party charting platforms and other websites. They have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
